Fully Involved Barn Fire In The 49 Box |
| Tue, May 25th, 2010 11:55:00 pm -
Tonight Truck 456 was dispatched for a reported commercial structure fire on Highland Street. Chief 49 was the first to respond and was advised immediately he had a job. As crews responded from the Hill, a thermal column and orange glow was visible from the station. Truck 456 was the second Tower Ladder to arrive and was put to work with master steam operations from the aerial. A 1 3/4 hand line was pulled from the Truck to the Delta side of the structure and was used to helped contain small brush fires that were starting due to the extreme heat. Also, a 3 inch line was pulled from the Truck and used in conjunction with a Blitz Fire Gun off of Engine 44 and was set up on the Alpha / Delta corner of the structure. After the aerial was completed with its master stream task, the crew went to assist the Engine 59 crew with Foam Operations on the Alpha and Charlie sides of the structure. Crews remained on scene for several hours until the fire was extinguished. Thanks to New Cumberland Fire Department for standing by with their Truck while we were committed on the incident.
